The Plustek SmartOffice PN2040 Scanner provides a networkable flatbed and automatic document feeder scanner capable of handling 100,000 scans during its lifetime. This makes the scanner a suitable solution for small and medium-size offices. It also features an optical resolution of 600 dpi for high quality scans and comes with variety of software for setting up and organizing your scans.

The PN2040 utilizes a flatbed or automatic document feeder for scanning images. This allows for batch processing of up to 50 sheets or for individual custom scans. The flatbed has a scanning area of 8.5 x 11.7", while the document feeder can scan documents up to 8.5 x 14". An additional feature for scanning is automatic document detection for quickly starting your scans.

The scanner can achieve scan speeds of up to 20 pages per minute, or 40 images per minute, with grayscale and black & white scans at 200 dpi. Also, you can reach 9 pages per minute and 10 images per minute with color scans at 200 dpi. This speed combined with a daily duty cycle of 1,000 sheets makes this a reliable scanner. Documents can be easily saved as Searchable PDFs, PDFs, TIFs, JPEGs, BMPs, and PCXs.
